  • he doesn't know the dog doesn't talk...

he doesn't know the dog doesn't talk...

When baby Daniel sees our dog Bella, she doesn't know that Bella won't talk back to him
this struck me (as does every single thing I encounter in my life) and it really made me think
He was sitting on my lap, tummy down on my chubby thighs (yes, I did say MY chubby thighs) and was talking to the dog... cooing away... inflections here and there
    trying to get her attention!
she was looking at him, which he giggles at, and their communication was complete
he doesn't know the dog doesn't talk
    it doesn't matter to him
Baby Daniel accepts the dog the way she is... non talking and all

random picture of what I did Saturday morning... came up with 2 new yummy cupcakes!! = lemon cupcake with fresh blueberry butter cream frosting = chocolate and lavender cupcake with blueberry butter cream frosting
both will be available at the farm this October with the blueberries the family picked so graciously for me and for you... as well as the lavender from my garden... organically grown
The Homesteading Series here at NA.DA.FARM will be up and running soon! Jason and I can't wait to share some more NA.DA.FARM with you

  • make it better...

    make it better...

you take basic ingredients and work them together
sometimes overworking the dough makes it tough... but you can still enjoy it...
but you won't enjoy it if you don't let the mistakes you made "go"
others who eat it might think it's the best blackberry scone ever... because to them, they don't know the mistakes you made... and there is no need for them to know... let them enjoy it
I will always try to make it better for them
    for me

while keeping a humble heart knowing that I didn't make it perfect... but good enough
    and that's okay

  • spread the love...

    spread the love...

my uncle needed some love recently... coming home to heal from surgery, I brought his favorite: carrot cake with cream cheese frosting

I make these in cupcakes too (but with frosting on the top!) maybe even later this spring... like May 18th and 19th?)
    xo+sweet blessings,

  • big families and French bread...

    big families and French bread...

bread is common place... a consumption practically everyday, but there are times, I do not want to bother with pans and all that... just a rolled dough and a natural shape
being that we are a larger family, gloriously large, someone besides myself are always in the kitchen

the workings of school in the background, after coming to me for the "professional" assistance he needed, kept my youngest daughter anticipating my arrival back to her schoolwork after the bread was taken out... such as the days here... a constant ebb and flow
    and some surprising shenanigans

    photo bomb #1

    photo bomb #2
though I thought otherwise a long time back, having these children, and keeping busy for them, is the most rewarding thing I have and every will be
    it is who I am
their mother... their teacher... their French bread baker...

    xo+ big family blessings,

  • cinnamon roll practice...

    cinnamon roll practice...

practicing for the upcoming May Barn Sale, my family is thoroughly enjoying these extra large salad plate size cinnamon rolls... smothered with a powdered sugar glaze... oh my hips!

I am always amazed when working with dough... the yeast just blows my mind... so fun to work with

one takes up a whole salad plate!!

the inside, even though enormous in size, were perfectly flaky... a must!!!

as you can see... our family of eight... all of us... and some of us eager participants liked them twice! imagine?! not I..no... no... this girly figure is perfectly womanly enough thank you very much
(but one was like 2 regular so what the heck)

seriously cannot believe it's Friday already! this morning I am securing all the dealers for the sale... they are all picking out which space they'd like, and reserving them... it's quite chaotic I must say for about 3 hours...
there is so much to share with all of you lately... and I'd like to do that next week...

if you are new to reading my blog, hello! and if you are a "seasoned" reader, thank you... all of everyone's feedback with my questionnaire about content was so fantastic... and I took it all to heart, prayed on it, and am now acting upon all of the ideas/thoughts/pondering...
